Retreatment

Retreatment is when a root canal needs to be re-done. The existing root canal and restoration have become infected and the area needs to be disinfected again. Some reasons for this are: residual bacteria in lateral or accessory canals, recurrent decay and calcified canals. Symptoms of a failing root canal can be: sensitivity to biting; constant pain and/or swelling in the area.

If you have any of these symptoms, call our office and Dr. Sonntag can do x-rays and tests to determine if the existing root canal is the problem.
